Weekend Patch: Battle Reports, Smarter Bots, and Fresh Blood

Battle Reports replace the old feed with turn-by-turn war logs. The AI finally crews buildings and guards Overlords. Cyber-Mods stack without a cap. Six creatures got new faces - and match end now ships receipts.

Neo-Wars weekend patch - autonomous digital entity operational

Neo-London did not sleep this weekend. We shipped a follow-up patch that turns messy mid-fight confusion into readable history, makes the AI stop embarrassing itself on turn three, and drops fresh portraits on some of the nastiest creatures in the underground.

If you played after the big Aug 15 drop: good. This is the polish pass. If you are just landing: Neo-Wars is a cyberpunk syndicate war - economy, Overlords, Creature Events, and the last boss standing owns the skyline. This update is about understanding the war while you fight it, and proving who won afterward.

Play table with the side dock open - Log, Battle Reports, Balance sheet buttons visible mid-match.

Replace with a wide shot of the live table chrome.

1. Battle Reports = your war archive

Remember the Event Bus? It was useful, but it lived in one scrolling feed and got noisy fast. We replaced it with Battle Reports - a per-turn, per-phase archive of what actually happened: declared attacks, Creature Events, Faction Events, fight results, ability fires, the whole confrontation timeline.

Open it from the side dock. Step through turns with Prev / Next. Each panel is tagged by stage and active player so you can answer "wait, who hit my Overlord on turn four?" without replaying the whole match in your head.

Battle Reports dialog open on a Confrontation turn - declare block, event rows, and fight result cards visible.

Ideal: a juicy mid-fight panel with at least one VS match block.

2. Match over? Now you get the autopsy.

Winning is not enough. You want to know how you won. The new victory screen drops a faction cover, quick links to Log / Battle Reports / Balance sheet, and a full Match statistics breakdown.

Damage dealt and taken. Overlord hits absorbed. Top income buildings. Which creatures hosted the most Events and Cyber-Mods. Bar charts and pie slices, faction-colored, so you can settle the "I carried this game" argument with data instead of vibes.

End a test match and grab the stats panel.

3. The AI got mean (in a good way)

Last week's AI could play. This week's AI has doctrine. The Director now:

  • Prioritizes Factory and Commercial Centre before random construction spam.
  • Crews buildings properly - deploys operators, transfers them, holds cash when a building still needs a body.
  • Parks Overlord guards - two tankiest field creatures flanking your boss so raids have to chew through meat first.
  • Fires Champion abilities at Market and Confrontation instead of skipping the spicy buttons.
  • Fortifies overflow creatures and assigns smart absorbers on Counter.

Still heuristic. Not Deep Blue. But it will crew your Factory, bodyguard your Overlord, and punch back - which makes solo practice actually useful.

Show an AI seat that clearly built economy before swinging.

4. Cyber-Mods: no more artificial ceiling

We removed the old per-creature Cyber-Mod cap. Stack chrome until the creature looks like a walking server rack. Rulebook data is aligned - if you can pay for the mod and find a legal host, attach it.

Yes, this can get silly. That is the point. Some decks want one mod. Some want five and a prayer.

5. Six creatures, new faces

Fresh art drop on some board staples and flex picks:

  • Feral Titan (Bio-Druids) - primal bio nightmare, updated portrait.
  • Mammoth (Bio-Druids) - symbiotic horror, heavier silhouette.
  • Thorn Adept and Trooper (Bio-Druids) - vine-runner and fungal knife got sharper field presence.
  • Director of Bio-Acquisitions (Bio-Druids) - the suit who signs off on your worst ideas.
  • Market Manipulator (Corp-Vamps) - Inquisitor General Xenia energy, crimson ledger vibes.

6. Synth-Siren hand overflow (Idol Hijack)

When Idol Hijack tries to slide a creature into a full hand, you now get a proper discard picker - same chrome as Black Market overflow. You choose what to discard. Padlocked cards stay locked against Data-Scrap. No silent failures, no mystery discards.

7. Play table polish

Under the hood: massive CSS pass on the live table, cleaner side dock, enemy board peek dialog, building picker/use flows, and card lightbox status text that actually explains fortify, crew duty, and mod stacks mid-fight.

Fortified + modded unit is the best demo.

What to try tonight

  1. Run a 1v1 vs AI and open Battle Reports after a noisy Confrontation turn.
  2. Finish the match and scroll the victory stats - find who actually hosted the most Events.
  3. Stack three Cyber-Mods on one creature and see if it survives contact.
  4. Stare at the new Feral Titan art. Accept that Bio-Druids are coming for your district.

Neo-London keeps score now. Fight like it.

See you in the skyline.
